Calendar of Events

The SIU Women’s Club holds several programs and events throughout the year to provide opportunities for all members to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends, while enjoying rewarding experiences.

Afternoon Tea
The Afternoon Tea is a long-standing Women’s Club tradition, with refreshments, great company, and entertainment. The Afternoon Tea is hosted by First Lady of SIU Mrs. Laura Mahony and is held in the Alumni Association Courtyard Tent outside Woody Hall.

Fall Social
The fall social serves as an opportunity to welcome prospective new members, reconnect with continuing members, and learn about plans for the upcoming year.

 Winter Meeting
The winter meeting provides Women’s Club members an opportunity to socialize, hear from a guest speaker, and receive updates from the Board of Directors.

Spring Business Meeting and Scholarship Reception
The Spring Business Meeting and Scholarship Reception is the highlight of the year, celebrating the fundraising accomplishments of the club and recognizing the recipients of the scholarships. The spring business meeting is the last official club event of the academic year. Current Board of Directors members and Interest Group leaders are recognized, and board members are elected for the upcoming year.  Changes to by-laws are proposed and voted on by the membership.
