Calendar of Events | Women'a Club | SIU

The SIU Women’s Club holds several programs and events throughout the year to provide opportunities for all members to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends, while enjoying rewarding experiences.

Afternoon Tea
Usually held in mid-September, it is an opportunity for members to reconnect with each other and begin a new academic year. Members enjoy tea and finger food. Entertainment is provided by SIU faculty and students.

St. Louis Symphony Trip
Usually held in late September or early October, members board a bus in the early morning for a trip to Powell Hall for a St. Louis Symphony Concert, including coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. After the performance members have lunch at a restaurant on “The Hill” before returning to Carbondale in the late afternoon.

Fall Meeting
Usually held in the middle of the fall semester, members enjoy lunch together at a local venue followed by a cultural program featuring a presentation by a guest speaker.

Winter Meeting
Usually held in February, members enjoy lunch together at a local venue followed by a cultural program featuring a presentation by a guest speaker.

Scholarship Awards Luncheon and Business Meeting
Usually held in early April, members are able to meet the two scholarship winners. During the annual business meeting, new board members are elected.
